This is the ideal vacuum ever. I have been a proud dyson owner for the past 8 years, my 1st was a purple DC07 Animal and that vacuum has been a trooper and nevertheless operates just as really good as when I bought it. So why a new vacuum? This one has all the bells and whistles that turn a staunch feminist into Donna Reed. It is that substantially fun to vacuum.
Out of the box, it takes five seconds to snap everything with each other and you are prepared to go. I have no thought what the other reviewer is complaining about with regards to the plastic but this is high superior all around. The plastic is smooth and has a matte finish (no scratches!) and is NOT BRITTLE so it will not snap. And absolutely nothing on my old dyson ever broke and that one was all plastic too.
When I got going, I in no way had to stop. I began on the sea grass hallway rug, moved to the wood floor, moved back to the low pile rug in the living room and then into the kitchen. The vacuum is light weight, incredibly simple to maneuver and no switching attachments. And is sucked every little thing up with no situations. Onion skins beneath the pantry shelf, sticky rice from my 3 year old's dinner, twigs and leaves from my husband's boots, sand from the driveway. All gone in seconds.
Then I carried it upstairs (and I did not even notice, it was soooo light!) I vacuumed my bedroom which is all medium pile carpet. WOW did it get tons of stuff up. I hadn't vacuumed in two weeks and it got all sorts of gunk out of the carpet. And I could get the wand all the way below the dressers, changing table, crib and bed. WOW. The old dyson upright can't do that.
Then I easily swapped the turbine head for the crevasse attachment (all neatly stored on the deal with) and sucked the cobwebs off the fan and corners of the ceiling. And the wand is light and extends simply.
This vacuum rocks and is worth each and every penny. The ball design is awesome and it just follows you about the space.
So that lady in the commercials tends to make it appear to pleasant and simple and easy, but its not definitely so effortless. Your cleaning the house so its not going to be pleasant or straightforward. However that mentioned, its properly made, strong, and sadly heavier than I anticipated and Bigger. The other issue is that the button that you push to get the bristles to quit spinning is a hit or miss. You have to push it and hold it for a handful of seconds to actually get it to cease. And the canister is NOT straightforward to clean. Youll figure this out when you push the low cost searching button that opens the bottom of the canister and it pops open in an awkward unbalanced way and perhaps 40% of the crud drops out and then a substantial chunk gets stuck on the edge and then a bunch of crap just sits in the inner recesses of the canister waiting for your to stick your hand in to get it out.
Yeah it was disappointing after all the years Ive been dying to get one, but hey it vacuums and it does it effectively. I guess you have to make a decision what your prepared to spend for that although.
